Helen has a degree in English from Agnes Scott College, a master’s in library science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a master’s in journalism from the University of South Carolina.
As a former public library director who loves historical research, she enjoys writing stories about unsung heroes. She published a double biography, Sisters in the Air, (Overmountain Press) about two pioneer female aviators. (NOT Amelia Earhart.) Rebecca Love is representing her YA/adult graphic novel. Helen has a middle grade graphic novel and two children’s picture books waiting in the wings. Helen lives in Southport, North Carolina. She enjoys traveling, flying with her pilot husband to airshows, taking daily walks, reading British mysteries, attending historical programs, and volunteering in her community.
