Dr. Runa Acharya, MD is an endocrinologist and Associate Professor of Oncology at an academic medical center. Her debut literary novel, The Good American Life, explores the evolving identity of an immigrant woman, alongside themes of ambition, motherhood, and belonging.

Raised in Nepal, Dr. Acharya moved to the United States at the age of fifteen. Her experiences navigating immigration, medical training, and family life place her in a unique position to write The Good American Life, a novel that reflects the emotional and professional complexities of a woman surgeon building a life in America. She lives in Buffalo, New York, with her husband and three children.
